Order becomes chaos, becomes order.
Believe what you feel.

75% Moved In...or out...

So things are good.
I moved in this weekend (storm be damned). There were only a few hassles, rain on my mattress, and electronics but so far everything feels/works none for the worse. Roomies are okay, hardly here. One roomie is only 19 and loud as heck when she clumps up the stairs yapping to her girlfriends. Other than that things have been pretty quiet.
Got a new boss at work. We all gathered together to hear him introduce himself this morning and he totally screwed up. He directed all his comments to the attorneys and said nothing about or to the support staff who was there. Severe gaff. Every one I talked to after hearing him was pissed.
I for one am a little worried. In his own words 'this could bode ill'.
Other than that things are good. Oops, check that, my cousin who inherited the house I was kicked out of called me today and made some unnecessary demands. All of a sudden she cares about the furniture that was in the house when I moved in 14 years ago. A dining room table and some sort of credenza. They're still there, although the table is a bit beaten up. I wouldn't care because it makes two more things I don't have to worry about getting rid of but still...14 years?! I could have gotten rid of them ten years ago, then what would she have said?
Anyway, she also asked if I could leave some of my furniture there to help stage the place for resale.
Mom was right she doesn't give a crap about me, all she sees is green.
Wow, blood don't mean a thing. Plus since she's studying law she has that annoying smarter than everybody else affectation to her voice. Like nobody else knows what's really going on.
I'm seriously tempted to take the low road and leave the house a total wreck.
Then again it kinda already was.
Fuck it, I'll get my stuff out and move the hell on with my life. I repeat, I'll get MY stuff out. All the other crap that people stored in the basement to rot can stay there. All I owe her is my absence.
Okay, okay I'll vacuum but that's it.
I'm such a sucker.

Hoping this and that...

Was planning to start moving today, but they say the storm's gonna continue for at least the next three days.
So I guess I'll keep my butt indoors and my furniture dry.
Powers fluctuating so I may have to do it in the dark.
High winds are shaking the house and rattling the windows, knocking over the garbage cans and wreaking havoc in general.
Oh yeah, the office newsletter went out yesterday. Got a couple compliments on my contributions.
One of them was a totally stupid question and answer section. I asked a bunch of hyper conservative attorney's who their first celebrity crush was. Whoops.
Thought I was being cute but it just came out silly. Oh well, now I've got to be more serious on the job for a while.
No kidding, these people are seriously uptight.
My other contribution was a pretty decent looking picture collage I put together of the office Halloween party (the issues come out quarterly). People thought that was good although I think most of them assumed my coworker (the main graphics gal) put it together.
I get no respect, no respect...
The temporary U.S. attorney ended his tenure yesterday and the new one starts on Monday. I hope he'll be somewhat cool, bad vibes spill over onto the whole office.
All in all tho, I like my job. It's cool watching really professional people getting things done, and being part of it.
I hope my next gig's this satisfying.
I also hope my new room mates and me get along.
And that this next semester is successful.
And that I get laid soon.
And that I place well in the Andy's Award show.
And that the little old lady from craigslist who conned me into paying $60 for a $30 desk really needed the money for her meds (I'm such a sucker).
All that said, here's a blast from the past for all you other '70's kids...

BTW...

I found a spot to park my bony ass for awhile. The roomies are cool and the atmosphere is friendly and safe. I'll be living with two women for a while until the last roommate moves in, which could be a guy but I kinda doubt it. So that would make me and three ladies, how cozy.
Not that I'm knockin' it, but I'll just have to be on my p's and q's all the time. Like no indoor smoking, drinking less beer (don't want my tongue to fly loose), and god forbid I eff up and leave the toilet seat up. i'd have to hear it from not one or two but three sides. This actually worries me! I've been solo for the last decade so all of a sudden living with roo mates is gonna be a major culture shock.
Hopefully it'll be good for me. Teach my stupid ass some manners for once.
